Domestic Violence (DV) Services are provided at A Woman’s Place.   This program offers emergency shelter for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence, a transitional housing program, children’s services and non-residential services.

  • Women approved for residential services participate in goal-centered sessions, including domestic violence education and processing the principal event of violence which brought them to the Shelter. Contact:   Shelter@cwt-cu.org or call 217-239-5350
     
  • Non-residential services are offered for individuals who need long-term counseling.  These services may include in in-depth assessment and treatment plan in addition to domestic violence education.

  • Court Advocates at A Woman’s Place assist individuals with obtaining Orders of Protection in Champaign, Ford and Piatt counties.

  • Our Children’s Advocate and specially trained volunteers provide children’s services during times when their mothers are participating in shelter programs.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES at A Woman’s Place include:

Non-Direct Service:

  • Light clerical work
  • Organizing storage areas
  • Painting
  • Cleaning Projects
  • Outdoor Cleanup (raking leaves, weeding gardens, etc.)
