Cost of Care

What does it cost to support an individual at the Center for one year?
It costs on average of $10,500. This includes case management, children’s programming, administration, utilities, food, transportation, diapers, toothbrushes, and everything a woman or a child would ever need to live.

What is the overall budget of the Center?
Our budget runs at about $500,000 per year.

Where does the Center’s funding come from?
We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and receive funding from a variety of sources, including state, federal, and local grants, community foundations, the United Way, and private donations.

Presby House Opens January 2009

In January 2009, CWT again expanded its program to include Presby House. This property was purchased by the Center and completely renovated by volunteers led by The First Presbyterian Church of Champaign and the First Presbyterian Church of Urbana. Presby House provides permanent housing to four single women.

Since opening its doors, CWT has served well over 3,200 women and children in need of support and temporary housing. Today, the staff and volunteers at CWT continue to reach out and help homeless women and children to improve their lives.
